| This concerete slab with the word OSCEOLA is the only visible reminder of a hotel by that name that stood facing Meridian Avenue between 5th and 6th Streets in downtown Dade City. The hotel was run by the Cochrane family. Later on, the Cochrane family ran the hotel called The Palms. The current owner of what was The Palms has changed the name to The Osceola, and that is the place that people now think of when they hear that name. [Photo and caption by Norman Carey.] |
