This early view to the East shows the intersection of U.S. 19, Alt U.S.19, and the CSX Railroad as it meanders to the NorthEast, paralleling the east side of Grand Boulevard, just South of Darlington/Perrine Ranch Road. Unpaved Road starting along the CSX Railroad on the East side of U.S. 19, with the small bend in it, is currently Panorama Drive in Holiday. On both sides of US 19 at this intersection was owned by the Pappas Family, and Pappas Square lies in this area. The extreme point where U.S. 19 and Alternate U.S. 19 meet was owned at one time by Chevron; U.S. 19 was referred to as State Road 595 and Alternated U.S. 19 was referred to as State Road 55. Just south of this point, until recently a Used Auto Lot, is the site of an Auto Store, and proceeding even further South, is the current home of Checkers Restaurant. Continuing South (to the right in the photograph along the bottom portion) is Daly Aluminum. This area, covering both sides of Alt US 19, was also known as "Pappas Colony Subidivision". An unpaved rural Manton Lane, can be seen in the upper left (NorthWest) of the photo. Photo by Angelo Deciucies; caption by David A. Henry.
