| The Goodyear Blimp in New Port Richey. This is believed to be the landing of the blimp in the area of Orange Lake. On March 31, 1930, the blimp visited New Port Richey as a promotion for the H. & S. Motor Co., which sold Goodyear tires. An article in the New Port Richey Press listed the names of about 50 men who rode in the blimp. The newspaper stated: “Owing to a rigid rule of the Goodyear company, no women were permitted to make a flight and there was much disappointment among the fair ones in the crowd.” The blimp also came to New Port Richey in 1929. |
