The handwritten message on the back of the left photo reads:

N. P. R. 10-9-25. This is a birdseye view of New Port Richey showing Orange Lake in the center of the town. By mistake I called it Mirror Lake in my other cards. Mirror Lake is located in the center of St. Petersburg. The building you see at the left is Enchantment Inn where Mr. & Mrs. Denney stayed before they bought. The road toward the right this side of the lake goes to “our” church. To go to Mr. Denneys, we turn to the left at the road marked x. The arrow below the other x points to his house. Worlds of love. Bobbie & Pinkie.

The handwritten message on the back of the center photo reads:

1922. This is a view of Orange Lake and the Circle Boulevard right in the center of the town. New Port Richey.

(On the center card, the message is in ink and seems to be in the same handwriting as the first card, except for the “1922” and “New Port Richey,” which are written in pencil apparently by someone else. Thus, this photo could have been taken in 1922 unless the unknown person who wrote “1922” on the middle picture was mistaken, in which case it could have been taken in 1925.)

The back of the right photo reads, “New Port Richey, The Paradise of Florida.”

Jeff Cannon writes, “This photograph or series of photographs was taken from the water tower, which was located between Main Street and Florida Avenue on a narrow alley that is still there today, just east of Adams Street. The road to the right is Adams Street and you can see where it intersects Central Avenue; in the lower left corner is Florida Avenue. The dark tree line towards the upper left is today’s Sims Park. I believe the small white house this side of the lake in the foreground is the first John Snell home.”
