The Old Edenfield Store, 4049 Grand Boulevard, Elfers, photographed in 2003. According to The Historic Places of Pasco County, "Constructed about 1932 of native rock and concrete, this onetime grocery and feed store was owned and operated for two decades by Lot and Daisy Edenfield who came to Elfers from Georgia. Customarily, the local people charged groceries during the week and paid their bills on Saturday." The New Port Richey Press of Aug. 17, 1945, reported that L. B. Edenfield of Elfers, who had operated the business for 23 years, sold the filling station, grocery store, and home to Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Koning, who would operate the business. According to Historic Places, the Edenfield's distinctive two-story frame home was built in 1932 across the street. It burned to the ground on Nov. 15, 1989.
