Jeff Cannon provided the following information about this photo.

This photograph was taken ca. 1920 from atop of the New Port Richey water tower looking northeast towards the intersection of Jefferson Street and Central Avenue. The home pictured at the far left, now 5914 Central Avenue, is the home of New Port Richey’s first postmaster Gerben DeVries, who also owned the two cleared and planted lots behind the home. The sandy trail is today’s Jefferson Street, and visibilty was more than 1/2 mile when this photo was taken. The wooded area above the DeVries home is where today’s North Bay Hospital is now located at the northeast corner of today’s Indiana Avenue and Madison Street, built in the 1960s.
