This photograph appeared in a 1915 Port Richey Co. brochure with the caption: “Partial view of Enchantment Park—in the center of New Port richey, and lying between Orange Lake and the Cotee River. This view shows the picnic ground and present boat landing.” The brochure also has: “In this beautifully wooded spot (at the right), called Enchantment Park, is now being erected a club house for the Cotee River Community Club. Ample space has also been provided for tennis and croquet grounds and a ball park. This will be the amusement and recreation center of the new town and the surrounding country. It is also the site of the proposed Cotee River Boat Club.” |
