Clarence Edgar Casson (1916-1989), the youngest son of Asher C. Casson and Anna M. Casson, served in with the U. S. Army Air Corps in North Africa as an Aerial Photographer during World War II. In 1941 he married Colleena Catherine Christina White, from Indiana. After the war he returned to New Port Richey and for a while operated a photography studio on the second floor of the Isaac Hardware building east of Grand Boulevard and south of Nebraska Avenue. During the Korean War he was recalled to active duty by the Air Force. He retired as a master sergeant after serving tours in Germany, Puerto Rico, and stateside bases. He was also an ordained Baptist minister. He served as commander of Paradise Post 79 of the American Legion in New Port Richey (1945-1946) and the World War II Memorial located on the South side of Orange Lake in New Port Richey was erected during his term as commander.
