John Edwin Casson (1905-1975), the eldest son of Asher C. Casson and Anna M. Casson, was a civil engineer and land surveyor. He began his career in surveying with Victor M. Clark, a prominent local engineer. In 1926 John married Erna Elizabeth Sims of New Port Richey, daughter of William Sims and Elizabeth Bentley. During World War II, John worked at the Tampa shipyard as an engineer. After the war he owned and operated a land surveying company in Tampa. He later moved to Clearwater where he continued his land surveying career and established ACK Map and Reproductions, a blueprint company.
